3GP LOGS

The climbing was up near Symonds Yat Rock. The Leaders and Ventures involved in setting up the climbs drove around whilst the rest of the troop walked.

All the Scouts and Venture were able to attempt several climbs, some of which counted towards their climbers badges.

A lengthy Abseil was also set up for the Scouts.

OVER THE TOP

The Slide started out as one of the burger challenges. Two teams of Scouts running a relay race up and down a slope covered in ground sheets lubricated with water and washing up liquid. Once the race finished the event turned into an amusing bundle. The slide was also set up again at the end of camp for a bit of fun. This time the Ventures joined in as well!

POINTS FOR STYLE?

This page contains the pictures that didn't fit into any of the other categories.

The Scouts and Mark travelled to Gloucester from Gidea Park by Train. The rest of the leaders and Ventures travelled in cars. Due to problems on the Circle line at Farringdon we had to travel across London on the Central Line.

WAS THAT YOU?

It's a well documented scientific fact that whilst walking up mountains Scouts Rucksacks feel 200% larger and 500% heavier than they actually are. Conversely on the Central Line Scouts rucksacks feel weightless so that the Scouts forget they are wearing them and consequently run the risk of knocking members of the public out of the way with them.
We spent an afternoon visiting a Maze puzzle. Fortunately for much of the time we were the only visitors so we could use the maze as an excellent arena for several games.
On the way back the Ventures and Leaders got slightly delayed.
