We are always trying to find ways to raise money for our Scout Group. Well here's a way that won't take up much or your time or cost you any money. If you already shop with major retailers online such as Amazon, Tesco, John Lewis and many others then you could be raising a little bit for 3GP each time you shop.
The 3rd Gidea Park Scouts are off to camp. Keep up with the adventure on our summer camp page here.
CUB SPORTS CUP
The 3rd Gidea Park Tigers won the district sports cup! Here they are being presented with the winners trophy by the District Commissioner and and Assistant District Commissioner for cubs.
SCOUTS DITCH CLEARING
The 3rd Gidea Park Scouts were once again in Raphael's Park having fun clearing rubbish out of the river.
Saturday June 10th
The Scouts were once again invited to build a bridge at St Mary's Hare Park School.
The Scouts really got into the spirit of the theme attempting to dress up like Caribbean pirates. They weren't very scary pirates as can be seen.
As you can see from the picture left, we had to get the bridge safety inspected by experts before letting anyone have a go.
DISTRICT CUB CAMP
Our two cub packs camped together at the district cub camp.
MAUREEN PRESTON TROPHY
The cubs were at Crow camp for the Maureen Preston Trophy. They had to complete tasks and challenges on a number of bases to prove their Scouting Skills.
SCOUT TEAM BUILDING
The Scouts were set a task. They were given a complete set of 1:50,000 OS maps and told to put them together to make all of Wales and the border with England appear on the hall floor. Each map is numbered and they were given a master diagram showing which numbers were where. It's just like doing a puzzle. The Scouts can't do puzzles!
Two of our leaders spent the weekend in Wales on a Mountain Leader training weekend. The picture on the right shows our tent in the middle of nowhere!
We had a little spare time so flew the group kite. Sunday the sun rose without a cloud in the sky and we were woken by wild horses eating grass near our tent at 6am.
ST GEORGE'S DAY
Sunday April 23rd
The group was out in strength for the annual St George's Day Parade.
The Beaver Scouts spent the day at Crow Camp having lots of mini adventures including toasting sausages on a fire (right) archery (below left) and climbing (below right)
The Scouts have been playing with Cameras and taking creative pictures.
The Scouts spent the weekend at Crow Camp. Saturday they went Orienteering in South Weald before playing an excellent version of twister on the climbing wall.
After Twister the Scouts cooked dinner and got ready for the camp fire.
The three teams of Scouts had been challenged to create burger restaurants Each team had to make costumes and boxes to server the burgers in.
At the camp fire they had to act out advertisements for their burger companies.
For Sunday Lunch the teams cooked burgers, served them from their Burger cabins in their burger boxes wearing their company uniforms.
Some teams did a better job than others but the Scouts and Leaders all got to eat lots of well cooked burgers.
