KANDERSTEG SUMMER CAMP

In August of 2003 3rd Gidea Park Scouts and Romford District Explorer Scouts held a joint summer camp at the Kandersteg International Scout Center in Switzerland. What follows is a full photographic report. Day	Scouts	Explorers		Network & Leaders
Fri				Four leaders depart Gidea Park Friday evening with Landrover and trailer full of tents. They drive to Dover to catch a ferry.

Sat	Depart Gidea Park at mid day Take train to Stratford, tube to Waterloo, Eurostar to Brussels and board the night train.			The leaders continue driving through the night and all day. Arrive in Kandersteg late in the evening

Sun	Set Up The Camp Site

Mon	The Scouts Hike In Two Groups	The Explorers Hike Together		The Mad Bunch Climb Bire

Tue	Climbing at Oey Quarry

Wed	Stand First Hike (Scouts)		Stand First Hike (Explorers)

Thu	Rest Day: Swimming in Brigabad

Fri	Scouts take a short Walk in Gemmi Pass	Explorers and Networkers High Altitude hike		Scouts relax at the golf course

Sat	Scouts in camp	Explorers in Camp		Leaders and Networkers in camp

Sun	The big overnight hike to the Lötschenpass Hut including crossing the Lötschenpass Glacier

Mon	Walking down the Lötschenpass and the Explorers attempt at the Hockenhorn

Tue	The Scouts had a rest day and went swimming in town.	The Explorer three day Expedition to the Rhone valley

Wed	The Scout two day Expedition			The Leaders Expedition to the summit of the Balmhorn

Thu

Fri	The International Camp Fire and sleeping in shelters.

Sat	Pack up and go Home

Sun	Arrive home
