 Day 7

Experience with organizing summer camps in Kandersteg has led us to believe we would get lots of rain.  The first Friday was left free in case we needed to catch up with our program due to rain.  As it was we had a dry week and a spare day.

So we thought we would take the Scouts up into the Gemmi pass and visit the Shwarenbach Hotel.  To make the hike an easy one we would get the cable car up and walk down. The afternoon would be spent on the golf course.

For some reason which was never made particularly clear the cable car effected an emergency stop causing it to swing up and pendulum for a minute or so.  Everyone was ok until Mat yelled "We are all going to die!" But the cable car was soon on its way and we strolled from the station up to the hotel for ice creams and drinks.

On the way down the steep path twisted along cliff edges past waterfalls and caves but it will probably the sudden appearance of a large snake that some of the Scouts will remember.
