THE SCOUT EXPEDITION

 Day 12

After a day resting in camp, the Scouts planed an easy two day expedition that they would undertake on their own or so they thought.  The route took them down the valley to Frutigen. Un-known to the Scouts, Steve and Jon followed them all the way.  On arrival at the camp site Steve and Jon ensured they were all ok and camped with them.

By all accounts Jon and Steve had an excruciatingly boring time.  The Scouts spent most of the first day sitting on their back sides and as a result they too had a pretty boring day.  The Hike took more than twice as long as it should have. The Scouts missed out on a lazy afternoon in the warm Frutigen swimming pool.

On the second day the Scouts had no food to carry as the walk was so short they would be back by lunch time.
The leaders hoped the Scouts learnt an important lesson in time management.  They chose to take very regular and long rests on the gentle down hill walk and as a result they also chose to miss out on an afternoon in a swimming pool.  We suspect this is a lesson they would soon forget.
