The evening meal in the hut was probably the only meal that the Scouts and Ventures didn't have to cook for themselves.  In this picture we see a very tired bunch of Scouts waiting for dinner.

Grub up!

During dinner the clouds disappeared momentarily and some people ventured out into the cold evening air to admire the view.

The view south from the hut at sunset.

The altitude, cold air and sunset make interesting pictures possible.

The mountain in the picture on the right is the Bietschhorn.  All this low cloud was making the chances of us being able to get up early and climb to the top of the Hockenhorn before dawn pretty slim.
The clouds start to obscure the evening view again.
Our room for the night..

We all sleep on a massive mattress.  Each person gets two blankets and a pillow.

What with all our kit in there too, their was not much space but for one night, it will do just fine.
