Swiss National Day is a public holiday in Switzerland and one of the busiest days on the campsite. The campsite staff organise many activities throughout the day and everyone on site must join in.

The first activity is the one that most people are not too fond of. This was especially true for members of the RVU who had a late night in the pub the day before. At 6am everyone on the campsite is woken up by the staff. Every other year we have been to Switzerland the staff have been round banging pots and pans and generally making an almighty din.

However, expert revelers should be able to sleep through this. Some members of the RVU were so confident that they foolishly challenged an American member of KISC staff saying that they would easily sleep through it.

However the RVU weren't banking on the police style siren that was employed at 6am, and the fact that the staff paid particular attention to the 3GP tents.

After being woken at 6am everyone on the campsite meets on the sportsfield for breakfast. The KISC staff try their hardest to get people to wake up and usually do a good job. Below can be seen the amazing transformation from sleepy people (above) to cheerful happy smiling people dancing about on the tables (below).

The International Breakfast had more than 1000 scouts from many different countries in attendance.
