There was barely enough room to live in the camp site, unlike last year where we were unable to have a game of cricket after the meal had finished.

This wasn't really a problem as most evenings were so wet that playing games wouldn't have been a popular form of entertainment.

Most days we got back to site after our activities reasonably late so the washing up often didn't get finished until 9:30.

Drying up was never easy as it was pretty impossible to dry the tea towels.

Getting Venture Scouts out of bed in the morning is rarely an easy task.  But as luck would have it, this year a Scout offered to do it for us.  With the standard tools of the trade, a skillet and a ladle.

Luckily he can run very fast.

Towards the end of camp, the scouts went out on a little expedition of there own.  They aren't allowed out until they have fully planned and documented the route including estimated times.

Here two are working together to fill in the expedition route cards.

When in Kandersteg the key to having a good camp site is to get out of it as often and for as long as possible.  This gives it time to dry out and recover.  We didn't have a single day where we were on site all day.

Being on the East side of the valley we only got the sun after about 10:00 in the morning.

In this picture the scouts and Ventures are all out and the leaders can relax.
