In this picture taken early on an Autumnal Saturday morning, the Cedar Paneling is almost complete. Inside work continues on the floor but their is plenty of exterior work to do.

Funny how the Ventures always get the Exterior work!

Below Dave has just turned up, seen mark has his camera so quickly does some work without removing his Jacket.

The Cedar is more or less complete.
Dave's here, it must be lunch time.

He then stopped to organise some lunch. The thin band of gravel that Dave briefly contributed to runs all the way around the new hall.

Whilst all the adults lased about inside the hall the RVU were outside slaving away on the construction of the Fire Escape path.

In the picture on the right which was taken on the same very overcast day as the above picture Ross Denton and Jon Goodwin can be seen leveling the first few paving stones and surrounding them with gravel.

There is no sign of Dave yet so this was probably taken before lunch.

If we thought all the digging was over, we were very much mistaken.

The Fire Escape.
The rear of the hall.

In this picture taken immediately after lunch (Dave's still here) the RVU can be seen making excellent progress on the Fire escape at the rear of the hall.

Left to right Dunks, John, Ross and Dave shovel mud and gravel to make way for more paving stones.

The completed Breeze block rear wall can be seen behind Dave. There is now a nice hedge of conifer trees between this path and the fence.

The walls and the roof of the hall were insulated with Rockwooll.The rockwool is cut into rectangles so it fits nicely into the wooden frame. It is held into place with huge sheets of polythene.
In the picture on the right, Duncan, Ross and Nikki Hare are completing the tricky task of attaching the polythene to the roof without the Rockwool falling out.  By this stage the hall had been wired but none of the cables were electrified so we were still using temporary lighting.
