So dismayed, we packed up and turned back to get down the mountain before the weather got worse.

Andy would return with some Explorer Scouts a few years later.

The fog is coming in.

The path was already wetter and more slippery than on our upward journey.

Andy uses the chain to descend?
Here Andy can be seen descending using the metal cable.  This was by far the quickest way of getting down.
At one point our path crosses a river right on the edge of a large cliff.  Not for the week hearted!
This is the path.
That steep bit again.

Returning along the scree path with the chains was no more fun than climbing up it.  More rain had made it slightly more slippery.

By the time we were back in the trees we could slow down and relax.  At one stage the sun actually came out to say Ha Ha!.

Wet and tired?
Bier?

We decided that we needed a well earned rest.  A bottle of Boxer Old was consumed in the Crystal, accompanied by a local playing his accordion.
