And here it is.  All the wall frames and roof beams in place but no roof as yet. The white window frames were delivered pre built and were fitted to the panels before erection of the building began. This made the front four panels the heaviest.

The new wall facing the Venture room had to have its brick paper and wood facing fitted before erection as this would not be possible at a later stage.

Our new climbing frame?

Next the smaller and lighter roof frames had to be lifted and fitted into position.

It's easy fitting roof panels on this side of the hall

For the side of the roof nearest the old hall, they were winced up onto the Venture room roof and then lifted into position.

At this stage the whole unit is wearing hard hats after we had a near miss with a hammer dropping off the roof. A wise precaution.

It should be noted that there were no injuries during this entire project, other than the occasional finger being hit by a hammer and Andy J. electrocuting himself.

On the other side of the wall the winch had to be employed more often. In this picture taken on the 9th of September 1995 James Logan can be seen on rope duty whilst Nikki and Mark swing the panel over the wall.  Dave Gardener and Ross Denton wait on the frame with hammers whilst Andy L secures the previous panel from the relative safety of the scaffolding tower.

Of course full body harness were being used by all the workers at all times whilst working above ground level.

Over here the pulleys need to be used again.
More roof panels.

In the picture on the left Mark and Nikki are waiting patiently for the next roof panel to be delivered.

All of the RVU are reasonable rock climbers so moving about at this height was not a problem for them despite the fact that the new building still rocked considerably.

After all the roof panels were fitted strips of wood that were to become spacers had to be nailed on top.  This was a good job if you liked monkeying around at great height so it was ideal for Nikki.

Did you see that?
Yes she dropped the hammer on his nose.
