As evening approaches, so does the grand finalle. Everyone on the campsite joins to together in a huge march to town. The number of Scouts taking part is around 1500 from around 50 different countries.

Before the march leaves everyone gathers on the sportsfield and a number of candles are lit, one candle for each troop in attendance. Pictured right is Steve Soggee lighting the 3GP candle.

Once the parade leaves it is customary to sing as loudly as possible. This was something that the 3rd Gidea Park Scout Troop have had a lot of practice at, and we also have a professional in our midst - Allen Matthews.

From the campsite, the torch lit parade makes it's way down the road towards the center of Kandersteg. Everyone in the town comes out of their houses and onto balconies to cheer the parade as they pass.
