Here we are walking along the first chained section.  This path basically hangs off the edge of a cliff.

Yes, that is the path.

A very wet scree encrusted cliff.

Andy looks worried.  Is the chain safe?
Its always a bit unnerving, trusting a metal cable that has been fastened to the cliff by someone else.  It may have been there for years.
After the cliff with the chain, and the steep climb with another chain, we came to this path.  This took us steeply up a gully filled with a river.

Once again the rain has stopped and we are getting hot.

A steep climb.
Lunch in the rain.

We stopped for lunch about 1 - 2 Km from the peek which was at the end of a ridge.  We didn't have a lot more climbing to do.

Now as Dave kept reminding us, their is no such thing as bad weather, only inadequate clothing.

But as we ate, the clouds came down, surrounding us in Fog and then the rain started again!

So we decided to abandon our attempt at the peek and return to base camp.

Nice View?
